The plunge Painter, Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro, Vue March 2010
This is an attempt to get an interesting angle of two girls swimming off of their boat for a children's book illustration project. The challenge was to get the water surface distortion right, get the characters to be float on swim, and to have the low angle of light to get the face of one girl lit above the water. It took several tries but this is starting to work for me.
When I tried the render above water elements more accurately, it didn't read as water. the more distortion, the obvious the flat water surface.
I started in Vue for composition and did the majority in photoshop and Sketchbook on a Cintiq 21. This version took about 4 hours
